About Maggie & Steve

Maggie and Steve were engaged on the New Year Eve of 1999, which marked their 4th anniversary of meeting each other.

4 years ago, Po (Steve’s brother-in-law) hosted a New Year Eve party at his house in Rockville and introduced Maggie to Steve. It was not a coincidence, but rather a set up. After the party, Steve found Maggie attractive and asked Po to call her to see if she would go out with Steve. Maggie kindly turned it down. Later Steve decided to called her himself to give it a shot. After 3 hour of conversation, Steve finally convinced Maggie to go out with him. (Lucky Steve, but they still had to thank Po for this. Without him, nothing would happen. Po and San, you will be honored as the match makers at the wedding.)

The next night, on their first date, after a long conversation, Steve again convinced Maggie that he would be her best choice to start a new relationship.  Steve and Maggie unexpectedly fallen in love and began their journey of love and romance. (Doesn’t sound like fall in love at the first sight to me.)

For the past 4 years, Steve and Maggie, like many couples, boyfriends/girlfriends, had their ups and downs. They went through the process of seeking their love, finding their romance, balancing their life, and learning how to live with each other. After all these years, they both were convinced and believed that they would be much happier living with each other and loving each other. It would be the right time to get married (I think it is because Steve’s clock is kicking. Man, he is getting pretty old now.)

During these 4 years, they had to learn to live and accept what they didn’t like about each other. For example, Steve would hope Maggie would do some cooking sometimes, but it was almost hopeless. Now, Steve had learned to accept what Maggie is instead of hopping that she might change.

They also had to learn to love each other in sickness and misfortunes. (It’s much easier love each other in richness and wellness.) Steve especially appreciated that Maggie took very good care of him when twice he was serious injured and stood by his side when he needed her the most. He truly believes Maggie will love him as the vow says in sickness and forever.

Maggie has a very united family. All of them (except Maggie) are living in the same roof or within the same street block in Taipei. Maggie has two elder brothers and one, two minute younger, twin sister, who are all married. Her parents are both retired and taking very good care of their grandchildren just like what they did for their children. Her twin sister is her best friend. There is almost no secrete between them and nothing they would not talk about.

Steve grew up in a big and loving family. He has two elder sister (both teachers) and two elder brothers. The younger brother died 16 years ago when trying to save a children from drowning. His loving mother, who always seek the best for her children, past away 7 years ago. His father, who always encourages his children, is retired and chose to live by himself like a free man.
